I've just watched the Iron Sky trailer and thought why nobody makes a film for the communists? Why always the nazis are so strongly denied, laughed at, why they are the super villains? Not that I justify their actions somehow but I think that the soviet and all other communist are greatly underestimated. They are equally evil, even more - they do not follow any morals and they easily transform. They mimic.
Why they are not the cool bad guys in the films? Because they are crappy looking and not reasonably cruel. This doesn't sell well...

The Day after Yesterday
Looking at this volcano ashing an entire continent and I could see the Earth do not even notice us.

Somehow I am pleased. It would cause me some problems but I don't bother.
Now people have to begin working hard because they have no time for complaining. Work and deal with the problem - that's all we have to do.
A crisis like this would prequel the flourishing of a new technological step forward.

The Butterfly Effect
There is no alternative, they say. I am not going to vote...
This is what happen on every elections in a post-communist country like mine. Every four years. This is what a lot of my friends say. This was their choice.
So... What happened next - two consecutive governments with communists in. Along with other two parties they robbed what was there to rob, none could tell which party is in charge, the boundaries between right and left, between right or wrong were washed away. A lot of injustices happened, cut Euro-fonds, unfair business, slow administration, bad infrastructure and many more.. I hate all of it and I wanted to escape.
Don't hate you country, the say! How could I not? Because of the choices all have made in the past it is gruesomely now.
Today I was told that "the work market here has tightened up considerably and preference is generally given to EU nationals other than yours. As you are not entitled to work here we will stop sending you job offers."
How this happened? Because one thing leads to another and now I am last on the queue not because of my capacity but because we all are the bad students of EU.
That's why I am angry because there was an alternative and there always is going to be one.

The Clash of Two Worlds
When we were living under the Iron curtain we dreamed about the western world and its pleasures. Day after day we imagined all the goods, the rivers of milk and honey that flowed there. At one point, 20 years ago we have been given the opportunity to touch all of this. And we were pleased.
Then, of course, came the frustration. It was nothing like we imagined it.
This is for most of the people. Not for me.
I believe this is thank to the education my parents gave me and my intelligence. They taught me how to judge. And now I think I can tell the difference between the really good, the good, the bad and the worst.
I have never had illusions that the Western world would embrace me and everything would be nice and easy. One must work hard to live well here too. And it has taken generations to build something nice. Not beautiful or perfect. Just nice.
Because I have lived on the both sides I can make the difference. On that point of view I truly appreciate the unconscious years in the communist era. Lately I often see a lot of western politicians, writers, actors, etc. crying for some sort of liberalism which reminds me socialism if it is not the socialism itself. They are deluded because they don't know what this is like and what are the consequences of the social path.
On the other hand most of the hopes for a better living among the people under the Iron curtain have drowned. The previous communist leaders are now the new capitalist. The are recycled. Their children are educated in western universities and have no political past, burdened by the legacy of their fathers. Now they are unrecognizable. That's why I am angry. Because "people" think they are capitalist and because of them they don't get all the benefits they have been hoping for. Because they don't recognize them as communist. They think of them as of imperialists that haven't brought anything good.
And there is a clash - the western world want liberalism, and the eastern one wants his past back because the new order is no good.
The revolution must be repeated.
